The United States should not occupy sovereign nations. Especially one with governments already in place operating under their own rule of law. Even in the case of regime change, new governments should be formed, security installed, and our presence reduced to allow for self-rule.

The modern-day GOP is much different than the one that nominated Sen. McCain in 2008. In the same manner, the modern-day Democratic Party is much different than the party that elected Presidents Clinton and Obama.

The State of California is taking a controversial and questionable step in altering the employment relationship between organizations and their independent contractors. California is set to enact legislation requiring companies to consider most classes of independent contractors as employees.

POWER & RESTRAINT:
Former President Theodore Roosevelt famously said that the United States must speak quietly but carry a large stick. A foreign policy vision that stood the test of time. Essentially, President Roosevelt warns leaders not to talk the United States into the military engagements but be prepared when unavoidable conflicts arise.

CORPORATISM, COMPETITION, CHOICE:
The economy needs greater competition and choice, not greater concentration of power. The anti-capitalism message promoted by many progressive politicians is based largely on false narratives. Our society does not have issues related to free market capitalism, but with the rise of corporatism.
